About us
This website is operated by Hitchway, a UK dealer of new and used caravans, motorhomes, horse trailers, box and utility trailers, shipping containers, cabins, trailer parts and accessories. Our trading address is Unit 4, Oakfield Business Park, Leicester LE1 1AA.
“We”, “us” and “our” refer to Hitchway. You can contact us at sales@hitchway.co.uk or on 01632 960 123. By using this site or placing an order you agree to these terms and the policies linked from them.
Your statutory rights
If you buy as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Where a clause below would conflict with those rights, your statutory rights prevail. Your cancellation and refund rights are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Orders & contract
Placing an order online, by phone or by email is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we confirm acceptance in writing (usually by sending your invoice). You must be at least 18 to order.
Many caravans, trailers and containers are single units. If a unit sells before your order is confirmed, we'll offer a comparable alternative or a full refund of anything you have paid.
Prices, VAT & payment
All prices are in pounds sterling (£). Prices for consumers include VAT where it applies; used goods sold under the VAT margin scheme do not show VAT separately. Delivery is charged separately and confirmed before you pay, unless stated otherwise.
Payment is due in full, in cleared funds, before dispatch or collection unless we agree a deposit in writing. Accepted methods are listed on our Payment Methods page. If a price on the site is obviously wrong, we'll contact you before accepting the order and you may cancel for a full refund.
Descriptions, weights & specifications
We take care to describe every unit accurately. Photographs of new stock may show optional extras or a model from the same range. Weights (MTPLM, MIRO, payload, gross vehicle weight), dimensions and berths are taken from manufacturers' data and may vary slightly by specification and options fitted. Used units are described in their actual condition, and their age and price are relevant to what counts as satisfactory quality.
Towing, road use & compliance
It is your responsibility to make sure your vehicle, driving licence and equipment are suitable for any caravan or trailer you tow, including the vehicle's towing limit, noseweight, braked and unbraked limits (braking is required above 750 kg gross) and your licence entitlement. Road trailers we sell new are type approved where required. We are happy to check a combination for you before purchase, but the final responsibility for legal towing rests with the driver.
Horse trailers must be loaded within their gross vehicle weight and axle limits. Containers and cabins may need planning permission or landowner consent for your site; obtaining these is your responsibility.
Delivery, collection & risk
Delivery and collection arrangements are described in our Delivery & Collection Policy. Delivery dates are estimates; if we are significantly delayed we'll tell you and you may cancel for a full refund. Ownership passes to you once we have received payment in full. Risk passes to you on delivery or collection.
For container and cabin deliveries you must provide safe, suitable access as described when ordering. If the vehicle cannot offload because access was not as described, reasonable re-delivery costs may be charged.
Warranties
New caravans, motorhomes and trailers come with the manufacturer's warranty, which is in addition to your statutory rights. Any dealer warranty we offer on used units will be confirmed in writing at the time of sale, including its length and what it covers.
Business customers
If you buy in the course of a business, the consumer cancellation rights above do not apply. We warrant that goods correspond with their description; to the extent permitted by law, other implied terms are excluded and our total liability is limited to the price paid for the goods concerned. We are not liable to business customers for loss of profit, business or revenue, or for indirect or consequential loss.
Our liability to consumers
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of your statutory rights.

Complaints, law & jurisdiction
If you have a complaint, please email sales@hitchway.co.uk and we'll respond within 5 working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you placed your order applies to it.
