Hitchway (hitchway.co.uk) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website, by phone, by email and at our premises at Unit 4, Oakfield Business Park, Leicester LE1 1AA. We process personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing support@hitchway.co.uk.

• Transport and delivery partners moving your caravan, trailer or container.
• Manufacturers, where needed to register a warranty or handle a claim.
• Payment providers and our bank.
• Email, form-handling, hosting and IT providers acting on our instructions.
• Our accountants, insurers and professional advisers.
• HMRC, the police or other authorities where the law requires it.

We never sell your personal data.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to protect it.

Enquiries that do not lead to a sale are kept for up to 2 years. Order, invoice and VAT records are kept for 6 years after the end of the financial year, as required by HMRC. Warranty records are kept for the length of the warranty plus 6 years.

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Have inaccurate data corrected.
• Have data erased where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it.
• Restrict or object to processing, including for direct marketing.
• Data portability for data you provided to us.

We respond to requests within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Your basket is stored in your own browser's local storage and is not sent to us until you place an order. This site also loads the Google tag (Google Ads), which may set cookies to measure which adverts lead to enquiries and orders. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and supplier due diligence, to protect your data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
