Same 20-foot black steel shell as our Standard Build, specified up. The Premium Build sits at £6,287 — £629above the standard unit — and that difference buys a higher level of finish on a pool that still slots into a compact yard, rooftop or courtyard.

Standard or Premium — How to Decide

If the pool will sit at the back of a large lot and mostly be used, buy the Standard Build and spend the difference on decking. If it is going somewhere visible — off a patio, alongside an outdoor kitchen, anywhere it reads as part of the house rather than equipment in the yard — the Premium finish is worth the £629. The swimming is the same; the presentation is not.

Getting the Install Right

A 20 ft pool wants level, compacted ground and enough clearance for the delivery truck to set it down cleanly. Sort out water supply, a power feed for the pump, and drainage before delivery day rather than after. If you are going semi- or fully in-ground, have the excavation and any retaining detail finished and cured first.

One thing worth knowing: the Premium finish is applied to the shell, not the water. Depth, length and the way the pool swims are identical to the Standard Build, so nobody should be choosing between them on performance — it is purely a question of how the pool needs to look in its setting.
